On the previous posts I wrote about; What is a blog?, How to start a blog in blogger.com, How to customize your blogger blog widths, Choosing the best blogging platforms, and Unlocking the header element so that you can add more gadgets.

Today I am going to show you an importance of blogging, or why people are blogging - including myself. Actually there is no single reason when you ask each blogger that why he/she blogs. I am going to put together the major objectives that make bloggers stick on the blogsphere.

I remember one day my Facebook friend asked me why I spend many hours on blogging. I didn’t mince a word while giving him an answer. I replied to him: “I blog so that I can share with the World what I have in my mind”. Simple like that!

Before I decided to write this post, I tried to research on this topic, by asking the experts (bloggers) in the blogging World. In fact I got many reasons from them, some of them gave me more than five factors why they blog. Of course I got many reasons, more than twenty. After interpreting these responses I came out with a few reasons which seemed to be repetitive and strong to many bloggers as listed and deeply explained below:

Sharing experiences

Blogs are the best way of passing a word across the World. Of course there are many people out there holding different levels of education such as politicians, musicians, psychologists, doctors, and religious leaders, just to mention a few. Most of these people have blogs for delivering messages/information to their targeted audiences. If you believe that you are deep on something whether theoretically and or practically, you can also notify other people so that they become aware too about it.

Good news is that, most of the biggest blogging websites let you start and publish your content in personalized way than micro-social networks do. This means you are free to use and customize the themes of your blogs such as fonts, heights, widths, background colors, font colors, and so forth.

Generally, blogs are by default public, which means your blog’s content is visible to anyone having a computer with internet access and he/she is not required to sign in when he/she wants to access your blog. This adds another value in blogging, since your message will be accessed by anyone, hence you’ll build more audience. However, you are free to switch your blog’s privacy to private if you prefer so that it will not be viewed by unintended people.

Building relationships

This is another reason that makes people blog. As you go on blogging and spreading the word (your content) to as many people as possible, you might come at a point that many people including your fellow blogger will get attracted by your blogging efforts and activities as well as seem trustful. Personally, I myself do appreciate those bloggers who are seriously participating in the blogsphere; sharing valuable content, being ready to support anyone with different difficulties. When I say Supporting anyone, I don’t mean giving money to a poor person, but it’s all about advising someone on how to resolve a certain technical problem.

Additionally, at a certain point your readers may wish to appreciate you for whatever valuable content you wrote on your blog, through commenting on it. To prove that their appreciations are of importance to you, you will have to reply to those comments right on the relevant posts. In fact this will build up great and strong relationships mostly based not only on what you blog on, but also your personal lives.

Promotion tools

If you conduct a research on how many blogs are there on the web up to this moment, I dare say you will fail coming out with a real number. This is due to the fact that blogs are created constantly, meaning every hour of a day across the earth. Some blogs are popular while others are not; some blogs have been created a few days ago and confusing enough, others have been customized in the way that they seem to be similar to the actual websites. This is simply because they are hosted free of charge, easy to start as well as to update.

Blogs are the strongest tools for promoting anything you have created; be it your projects, products and services. You are free to tell your audience what you have. For instance, if you’re a politician, artist, book author/writer/seller, sportsman or businessman, you can start a blog where you will post latest information for keeping your customers updated about your missions. Many people consider this as a main reason that make them blog.

Improving your knowledge and skills

Someone can ask: “how can a blogger improve his/her knowledge through blogging?” Well, it’s real possible. Keep in your mind that, like other issues in your life, blogging is full of different challenges, difficulties and tiresome, in the way that you may wish to stop blogging. But a strong and wide-minded blogger cannot give up in such a way. He/she will fight full-time resolving any problems associated with blogging.

Remember solving a problem requires skills and knowledge and sometimes even money. So, if you are confronted with a technical problem associated with blogging and you currently don’t know how to solve it, you will have to learn the solution for it. This is how you will become more skillful through blogging. The more difficulties occur to you, the more you struggle for solving them and the more you diminish problems successfully, the more you become skillful and knowledgeable. Journalists and writers really enjoy blogging as their messages are delivered to their audience in a couple of minutes all over the World. And this is another reason that makes people join and stick in the blogsphere.

Making money

Through my research, I found this reason to be repetitive to a great number of bloggers. It may seem as a day-time dream/nightmare to somebody who does not blog or who blogs but has never got money through his/her blogging efforts. In fact, there are many bloggers out there who generate or make a lot of money through their blog’s content.

To make this evident, let me make it clear to you that I am among the bloggers who make a lot of money by just writing on something I am passionate about, training people how to blog, publishing free tutorials, helping other people solving their problems as well as creating blogs for people with small businesses. I am not saying this to take you to the blogging World. I am not as fool as that way!

Most of successful bloggers make money through promoting people’s products, services and businesses through displaying advertisements (Ads) on their posts. Some bloggers sell links to other people, but this is not recommended and encouraged. If you are among the bloggers/publishers who sell links, I advise you should stop it as it will cost you one day!

There are many affiliate marketing programs where you can request an opportunity to promoting advertisers’ products and services. When you are approved as a publisher you will be able to grab the Ads (Links, banners and even products) which is turn will earn you a lot of money.

Conclusion

Generally, blogging is full of amazing experiences and practices. If you are new in this World and you have something to share with a public, I recommend you to start blogging today. It’s free. If you are a highly experienced blogger, you’re free to give me any kind of advice. Learning is my constant practice; hence your advice is very important.
