Desktop Backgroundis an image that you can see on your computer's screen when programs' interfaces are closed or minimized. Also known as a wallpaper, the desktop background gives your computer screen a good and appealing or attractive appearance to anyone who pays a glance on it.Depending on the Operating System your computer is running, there are built-in or pre-defined wallpapers that came with your OS, giving you a great chance to select anyone among them and apply it for keeping your desktop not only smart and neat, but also sight-catching. For instance, if you have a version of windows Operating system installed in your PC, you can change a current wallpaper by selecting an image from a variety range of pre-made photos optimized for being used/applied as desktop backgrounds or wallpapers on computers. Regardless of a type of computer and an Operating System installed in, you have a great chance to use any image as your computers wallpaper. You asked if it's possible to use your favorite personal photos as desktop wallpapers? Good question! Why not? Of course it's definitely possible! You can set your favorite pictures as wallpapers a few minutes (if they are stored in your disks). You can also decide to keep your desktop blank (without background image). If you don't wish to have a background image on your computer screen (desktop), you will have to define a background color. Any color, be it white, red, black, blue, green or yellow, depending on your interests, will add more values to your system. If you know how to change the desktop background, it is luck of you. But if you really don't know, you suppose to learn the tricks and techniques that will make you capable of customizing your desktop with different attractive themes. However, the procedures for changing the desktop backgrounds or wallpapers differ from one computer to another depending on the versions of operating systems running on the specific computers. This is due to the difference of interfaces and options for changing wallpapers in all Operating systems. All Microsoft Windows OS versions i.e. Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows ME and others, have different options and procedures for changing the desktop backgrounds, although some can have the same. Do you know that there are Mac Computers, also known as Macintosh? I don't an answer, though! Yap... Macintosh computers are types of computers produced and distributed by Apple Inc. They also work/use an Operating system commonly known as Mac OS X, designed for running Macs. My intention was not telling this, but reminding you of keeping in your minds that in Macintosh computers, procedures for changing desktop wallpapers are different from other Computers with different Operating Systems. To be perfect in customizing the desktop background on each OS you have to learn the techniques, whether online, from your fellow coworkers, neighbours, friends, classmates or go to your OS's built-in help and support center. Where can I get more desktop Backgrounds or Wallpapers for my desktop?Good question! There are many sources out there where you can grab images so that you can use them for your screen's decorations. The main way to get more images is visiting the websites that deal with creation and designing of images specifically designed for desktop wallpapers. These sites vary in terms of services. For instance you can find a certain Website offering free wallpapers while others will require you paying some amount of money depending on the quality of images.
