Computers are used differently according to the user's intentions and environment. The following are some of the uses of computers:-

Communication (Getting/sending information)

The computers can be connected to the computer network, be it Local or a Wide Area Network, so as they can communicate and transfer data from one place to another accordingly, enabling people to get notified about anything taking place wherever in the world. Everyone needs communicating with other people on different matters!

Studies

The computers are nowadays used by the students for storing their notes. Sometimes people can download Notes from the Internet. Also there are some academic Institutions which use computers as the primary teaching or training resources.

Ordering things You can also buy or order things online by using computers. Nowadays, life is so easy and slightly different from many years back. You can now sit in your room having the computer with Internet access and purchase something sold anywhere else in the world, and this will be done in just a few minutes.

Typing Documents

Having the PC or any other kind of the computer system, you can create, manage and use documents for different tasks, e.g. you can type a letter for a job application, keeping track of your daily activities or business, etc. MS- Word, Excel, Publisher and Access are just few of Application Software which can help you create and manage your documents.

Mathematical calculations

The big institutions, companies, organizations and individuals are using computers for calculating what income they have generated, used or expecting to collect. There are programs designed purposely for making this possible, and among them are Microsoft Excel (Spreadsheet Application) and Microsoft Access (Database Application), which are the products of the software company popularly known as Microsoft Corporation.

Playing Games

Some people are now well known in their streets for playing what we call Games. These games are created or designed by using Computers. We can play games by using any kind of computer, Desktop PC, Laptops, PDAs, Smart phones etc.

Health & medicine

Computers are used by scientists in medical and health researches. Also computers are used for taking medical check up in hospitals.

Entertainment & Recreation

People are using computers for entertaining the public, such as at the live music show you can see the computer used for playing music. PCs are used also by music, videos or film producers for producing music, movies, films and other related products.

Data Storage

The computers are good tools for data storage. They can hold any amount of data depending to the hard disk's capacity. This can help us avoid having a lot of papers on our offices' tables, desks, cupboards as well as in our bags.
