You are here: Home > tutorials > Computer basics > How to change time and date on the computer When you keep an eye to the bottom-right side of your desktop (right section of the task bar), you can see numbers arranged in time format, and when you try to hover your mouse pointer on that area, you will see the notification tip displaying day, date, month and year or something similar depending on how time and date was set on that PC. That’s where time and date is displayed in the computer system. How to change date and time Double click clock (time and date notification icon) to display the date and time properties dialog box Under Date, click the down arrow next to the month name to select the correct month Click the up or down arrows to set the correct year Select date Under Time, set the hour, minutes and seconds by using the down and up arrows Click Ok or Apply You may also want to change or set the Time Zone and Internet Time.
